How to Get to Bonaire - Airlines
Dutch Antilles Express offers daily service from Curaçao and Aruba.
Divi Divi Air offers daily service from Curaçao.
Insel Air offers daily service from Curaçao and from Miami and Charlotte every Saturday
EZ Air offers daily service (except Sunday) from Curacao
Tiara Air offers 5 flights a week from Aruba
KLM offers daily flights from Amsterdam.
ArkeFly offers two flights a week from Amsterdam.
Continental/United offers a flight from Houston and Newark every Saturday
Delta Air Lines offers a flight from Atlanta every Saturday

Airport
Flamingo International Airport

ATM's
Several ATM’s can be found all around the island. Locations include the Flamingo Airport, town center in Kaya Grandi, at Plaza Resort and one nearby Buddy Dive Resort.

Banks
A number of banks are located around the island. Banking hours are from Monday to Friday from 8:00 am till 3:30 pm.

Climate
Tropical climate enhanced by north east trade winds. Annual averages: temperature 82º F (28º C), rainfall: 22”, water temperature 80º F (27º C)

Currency
U.S. Dollar. Euro is accepted at almost every hotel against the daily exchange rate.

Dentists
There are several dental clinics to be found on the island. For details consult the yellow pages.

Departure Tax
International departure tax is USD 35.00. Domestic departure tax is USD 9.00. Both payable upon departure at the airport.

Drinking Water
Distilled and purified seawater is safe to drink. Bottled water is also for sale in the supermarkets.

Driving License
International and foreign driving licenses are accepted. Driving on right side of the road.

Electricity
110-130 volts AC (50 Hz) and 220 volts AC (50 Hz)

Emergencies
For ambulance service dial 114. For the police department dial 911. Bonaire has a 60-bed hospital, San Francisco Hospital on Kaya Soeur Bartola 2 and a number of doctors. An ambulance plane is also on call for emergencies. Bonaire also has a state of the art recompression chamber that is located adjacent to the hospital.

Entry Requirements
All visitors must have a valid passport and return ticket. Visitors from the US and Canada may also submit the following documents:
• An official birth certificate or an affidavit of birth, plus a valid driver's license;
• A certificate of naturalization for citizens born outside the United States, plus a valid driver's license;
• A re-entry permit to the US, a valid non quota immigration visa or a green card for non USA citizens residing in the USA, plus a valid driver's license.

Geography
Size: 112 square miles (180 square km), with Brandaris as highest point at 784 feet (239 meters). Geographic coordinates: 12 15N, 68 45 W.

Internet
Internet service is available through local service providers and AT&T. Internet corners can be found at all resorts. All resorts have wireless internet. Other internet facilities can be found at the local telephone company Telbo and at other locations on the island.

Languages
Dutch and Papiamento. English and Spanish are widely spoken. At our hotels and dive shops you will also find staff who can speak German, Italian, Portuguese and French.

National Holidays
New Year’s day; Carnival (February); Good Friday, Easter Monday; Queen’s birthday (30 April) ; Labor Day (1 May); Ascension Day; Bonaire Day (6 September); Christmas Day; Boxing Day; Kingdom Day (15 December).

Pharmacies
There are 3 pharmacies on the island, also known as Botika. Botika Bonaire in the town center on Kaya Grandi 27. Botika Korona on Kaya Korona 180 and Botika Rincon in the village of Rincon.

Postal Services
There are two post offices on the island. One in town on Plaza Reina Wilhelmina 11, open from Monday to Friday from 7:30 to 12:00 and 1:30 to 5:00 and one in Rincon on Kaya Rincon 73, open from 9:00 to 12:00 Monday through Friday.

Store Hours
Stores are generally open from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm and from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm. Supermarkets are open non-stop from 8:00 am till 6:00 pm from Monday till Saturday. Some supermarkets and mini markets are open on Sundays and closing hours may vary from 2:00 pm till 8:00 pm.

Telephone
International telephone calls can be made from most resorts and apartments. Public phones are available all over the island for use with prepaid calling cards and credit cards. GSM is supported. Mobile phones are also for rent on the island.

Atlantic Standard Time.

Vaccinations
No vaccinations are required for Bonaire.
